Privacy statement
Last updated: 31 October 2026
In short: the app collects nothing. The website sets no cookies and doesn't track you. If you write to me, I use your email address to reply. If you ask for update emails, I use it for those too, and nothing else. I never sell or share it.
Who I am
AudioVik is a hobby project by DeeJay Alex, in Canada. It isn't a company. For anything about your information, write to info@audiovik.com or use the contact form.
The AudioVik app
The app doesn't collect any information and doesn't connect to the internet. Your music and projects stay on your computer. The only exception is the optional add-on installers (stem separation and voice tools): when you run one, it downloads the software it needs straight from its publishers, such as Python, PyTorch and the AI models.
The contact form
When you send a message, the form collects:
- Your email address, so I can reply
- Your name, if you choose to give it
- What it's about and your message
- Whether you asked for update emails
It's emailed to me at info@audiovik.com, and I use it only to answer you. Messages stay in that mailbox for as long as they're useful for helping you, and I delete them if you ask.
To stop one person flooding the inbox, the server briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of the sender's internet address, which can't be turned back into the address, for up to an hour. Then it's gone.
Update emails
If you tick “Email me when there's a new version”, your email address (and name, if given) goes on a private list, with the date you signed up. I'll only email you about new versions and important fixes, not often, and never anything from anyone else.
To stop them, reply to any update email with “unsubscribe”, or write to info@audiovik.com. I'll take you off the list right away, within 10 days at the latest. Every update email will remind you how.
Cookies and the visit counter
The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. Fonts and images come from this site itself, not from other companies.
At the bottom of the page is a small counter of visits and downloads. It only counts you if you click OK on the notice at the bottom of the page. Even then:
- Only the two totals are stored. Nothing about you is.
- Your browser remembers, for this visit only, that you were counted, so reloading doesn't count again.
- The server briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address, for up to 30 minutes, so the same visit isn't counted twice.
Your browser also remembers your answer to the notice, so it doesn't ask every time.
The web host
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like all web servers, theirs keep standard logs of requests (such as internet address, page and time) for security and to keep the site running, under Hostinger's privacy policy. I don't use those logs to track anyone.
Donations
The donate buttons open PayPal in a new tab. Anything you enter there is handled by PayPal under PayPal's privacy statement. PayPal tells me a donation's amount and the name and email you give PayPal, and I use them only to say thank you.
Your rights
You can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, at any time, by writing to info@audiovik.com. I'll answer within 30 days. If you're not happy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If this statement changes, the new version goes here with a new date at the top. If a change affects how your email address is used, I'll tell the people on the update list first.
